Bachelor’s Degree of TCM Program is a five year program which is designed for students to learn not only acupuncture and TCM, but students will also learn basic Chinese dialogue as well as basic reading and writing skills in Chinese. Shandong University in China provides credit toward a Bachelor’s Degree of TCM based upon successful completion of the Dr. of TCM Diploma program at CITCM. Students in this program will first finish their first four years of education at CITCM. These four years are recognized by Shan Dong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, which will allow students to go to China to have one full year of clinical practice in the Teaching Hospital of Shan Dong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine. The internship involves 1200 hours of clinical practice through which students can experience a hospital setting of acupuncture/TCM practice with a more variety of different diseases, styles and methods of practice. Continuous training in first four years of Chinese language gives students in this program the opportunity to communicate with local doctors and patients more directly.
Upon completion of the program, you will receive your Bachelor’s Degree from the Shandong University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Jinan, Shandong Province, China. Since our Acupuncture Diploma program is the foundation of this program, you will meet the criteria required to write the Alberta provincial licensing examination to become a registered acupuncturist in Alberta, which is also recognized by BC and Quebec.
