About the Instructor: Dr. Yiwen Su, OMD, L.Ac. President of the American Academy of Oriental Medicine (AAOM)

Dr. Su started his eight year full time TCM University training in 1980 at Chengdu University of TCM in China. He taught and practiced at the Chengdu University and attached hospital for a number of years. Dr. Su then went on to gain an additional 12 years of teaching and clinical experience in Germany, Israel, and in the U.S. His encyclopedic nowledge and unique teaching style made him one of the most popular instructors at the Seattle Institute of Oriental Medicine (SIOM) and the Emperor's College of Oriental Medicine . Dr. Su has had very successful clinics in Israel and the U.S. due to his expertise in dermatology, allergies and other immune dysfunctional disorders. He maintains a private practice in the Su & Jin Family Acupuncture and Herb Clinic in Seattle and is AAOM's current president and academic dean.

About the Workshop
Dr. Su will guide you through the concepts of "Xu" (deficiency), "Shi" (excess), "Gong" (remove pathogens), and "Bu" (tonify) to help you understand why pathogens linger in the body and the strategies used in treating them. He will review concepts from the Classics relating to Lingering Pathogens. The majority of time will be spent discussing the diagnosis and treatment of different types of Lingering Pathogens including syndrome differentiation, acupoints, herbal formulas, and some case reviews of commonly seen clinical conditions.

Eczema, other skin problems

In spring of 1996 I met Dr. Yiwen Su for a first visit in his clinic in Ramat-Aviv, Tel-Aiv, Israel. The reason for visiting him was my skin conditions. I have been suffering from psoriasis for over 20 years. Before I visited Dr. Su, I had been seeking help in every major hospital in Israel and was treated by leading Israeli Dermatologists. Asthma, Sinusitis
