With a background in Western medicine, I felt my life needed
a change and that Traditional Chinese Medicine could offer me
both the career and philosophy that I was looking for. When
researching the many schools that offer courses in TCM I was
very impressed with the Canadian Institute of Traditional Chinese
Medicine and since moving to Calgary from England I have not
been disappointed. The course is comprehensive, well structured,
challenging and also very rewarding. The staff are extremely
knowledgeable and also very approachable. The school in many
ways feels more liked a family with a relaxed friendly atmosphere
which is also extremely professional. For anyone who feels their
future lies in TCM I would without reservation recommend this
school. Not only will you receive a first rate education that
will enable you to become a competent and confident practitioner
you will also make many new friends on the way.

I love this school because
of the small class size and the close relationship the students
have with their teachers and the administration. I
also appreciate that the school is constantly using direct student
and teacher input in order to improve in any and every aspect.

I really like the small size classes. More one on one , especially
for labs.
The teachers are very flexible & open to suggestions; as
well as very
knowledgeable & helpful.
The school is open to any suggestions & welcomes feedback
, in order to
make it the best school it can be.

It has been an interesting and winding road to becoming an
acupuncturist and TCMD. I became interested in alternative medicine
at a young age thanks to my Mother, but after a degree in Environmental
Sciences and years living in Asia, it took me a while to finally
work towards a career in this area. In an environment rich in
diversity of both people and knowledge, CITCM further fuels
and supports my passion for helping others.

CITCM's programs are both thorough and strong. The professors have a
wealth of experience in diverse areas of interest. They are willing and
eager to impart this knowledge to the students and encourage application of
these principles in the clinic setting, ensuring greater Learning capicity.
The program leaves students fully prepared for provincial exams. The class
size is smaller allowing for greater discussion of theories and a greater
understanding of the material being taught. Clinic supervisors were
motivational, fun to work with and willing to take the time to explain
complicated cases.

I am a 1st year student
at CITCM. Coming from a post-secondary institution where class
sizes averaged at 100-300 people, and being indentified with
a 7 or 8 digit number, it is really refereshing and heart warming
to be known by the instructors, class mates, students in other
grades and even administration staff by first name basis. Small
class sizes and the care the institution has to each and every
students is a huge ositive.
